Richard & Rosemary – Armenian Congregational Church – (Southfield, MI)

“Blood couldn’t make us any closer.” I often heard that phrase and thought of it as just lip service.  However, when it came time for Richard & Rosemary Jackson’s wedding, I realized that blood isn’t the defining characteristic of family.  These two aren’t just my friends, they aren’t even just my family.  These two are “MY PEEPS.”  We’ve traveled together, laughed together, and even cried together.  In fact, we still meet up weekly for dinner.  So, with all that being said, why in the world was I nervous to shoot this wedding?  Truthfully, I still get nervous for every wedding, but this one was different.   I count it a blessing to photograph every wedding we are book, but it’s extra special when those closest to you trust you to “do what you do” on their special day.

Richard & Rosemary invited their guests to the intimate Armenian Congregational Church and Reception Center in Southfield, MI for their wedding & Reception.

Rosemary’s make-up artist was Laura of Laura Melissa Make-Up Artistry.

Rosemary was escorted down the aisle by her lovely mother, Margaret Smith.  Her bridal party included her Matron of Honor Pamela Smith and flower girl Scotland Hopkins.  Richard’s best man was Steven Anderson (not that Steven Anderson, but we are related, LOL… He’s my father)  and his ring bearer, Antonio Thomas Jr.

The ceremony was officiated by Minister Linda Seatts-Ogletree of Triumph Church.

After the I Do’s,  the congregation headed to the adjacent banquet facilities for the reception. jackson2

Since these are our peeps, we were able to put our cameras down for a moment and enjoy the festivities.  The remaining photos are a small collection of the cell phone pics we shot as we shut the reception hall down!
